1985 | Establishment of Visser Shipping <\/h3>\t\t\t\t

Visser Shipping was founded in 1985 by Aleida and Douwe Visser. by Aleida and Douwe Visser in 1985. They both have their roots in typical Frisian shipping families. On their first inland waterway vessel, De Orion, they provided freight transport through the Netherlands and Germany.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

1995 | The shipping company <\/h3>\t\t\t\t

In 1995 they changed course from inland navigation to marine navigation and bought their first seagoing vessel, followed by their first container ship in 2002. Aleida took up residence onshore with the children and has since been responsible for the organisational and administrative duties of Visser Shipping, working from the office in Sneek. Douwe Visser continued to work full-time as a captain. The fleet provides container transport throughout the Northwest of Europe.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Manoeuvring in narrow waterways, upstream and in tight ports are specialities of the captains of Visser Shipping. Their professionalism manifests itself in the fact that they either have dispensation from compulsory pilotage or are in the process of obtaining this for all the ports they call at.<\/p>

The aim of Visser Shipping is to sail with fixed crew members, where possible. Crew members that motivate, stimulate and strengthen each other anticipate one another better and form a close-knit crew.<\/p>

Sailing is our passion. Our crew consists of driven, highly experienced and well-trained men and women. Together, we give 100% every day to provide our clients with top quality.<\/span><\/p>

We can offer our clients the best possible service thanks to our cost-saving approach. For instance, our captains have a pilot exemption for all ports they call at, or they are in the process of obtaining one. This results in a considerable saving of pilotage costs. We provide our clients with a full-service solution, by preparing our own stowage plans, for instance.<\/span><\/p>
